Open Letter to All International Students at Nanjing University

亲爱的同学们：
Dear international students,
目前，在中国中央政府、教育部和江苏省的统一部署下，南京大学防控新型冠状病毒感染肺炎疫情的工作正在有序开展，广大留学生在此期间给予了及时反馈与积极配合，我们在此深表感谢。同时，我们也提请各位同学对以下事项予以关注和支持。Currently, the prevention and control of the outbreak of the 2019-nCov infection is progressing orderly in Nanjing University under the united leadership of the China Central government, the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Provincial Government. We highly appreciate your quick response and positive cooperation during this period of time, and we would also appreciate your continuous attention and support to the following issues:
开学时间延迟
Postponement of Spring Semester
南京大学已决定推迟2020年春季学期开学时间，具体开学日期另行通知。请仔细阅读学校及海外教育学院发布的各类相关信息并及时关注更新，不要提前返回南京或学校。请及时关注中国铁路部门和各航空公司在疫情防控形势下的最新票务退改签特殊政策，以利合理安排行程。Nanjing University has decided to postpone the spring semester of 2020 and the specific commencement date is yet to be announced. All students are not advised to come/return to Nanjing and NJU before the stipulated date. Please pay close attention to updated announcements by the University and the Institute for International Students. Please also pay attention to the latest ticket policies for cancellation and refunding announced by railway companies and airlines for proper rescheduling.
积极配合防疫
Continuous Efforts in Prevention and Control
请同学们继续配合防疫工作，坚持向联系老师每日一报，建议仔细阅读新型冠状病毒感染肺炎的公众预防提示并认真执行，保持良好卫生习惯，注意个人健康。在中国境内的同学，请严格遵守中国政府及卫生部门发布的指示和要求，采取一切必要的防范措施，加强个人防护。一旦出现新型冠状病毒感染可疑症状（包括发热、咳嗽、咽痛、胸闷、呼吸困难、轻度纳差、乏力、精神稍差、恶心呕吐、腹泻、头痛、心慌、结膜炎、轻度四肢或腰背部肌肉酸痛等），应根据病情，及时到医疗机构就诊并尽快通知海外教育学院和所在院（系）。We hereby call for your continuous efforts in cooperation with the ongoing prevention and control policies. Keep daily report and carefully read the instructions or FAQs on prevention and control of the outbreak and take every necessary measure, so as to secure your personal safety and health. If you are in China right now, please strictly abide by the instructions issued by the Chinese governments at different levels and health authorities and take all necessary precautions. Please go to the Health Services nearby immediately in case of the suspicious symptoms found to be related to pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus and at the same time notify the Institute for International Students and your school or department. Such symptoms at least include fever, cough, chest distress, dyspnea, mildly poor appetite, feebleness, mild lethargy, nausea, diarrhea, headache, palpitation, conjunctivitis, mildly sore limb or back muscles.
同时，我们也建议同学们保持健康、乐观的心态，基于中国政府和世界卫生组织等权威机构发布的信息做出理性的判断。在注意防护的同时，避免恐慌或急躁的情绪。We would also like to suggest that, psychologically, our international students stay healthy and optimistic. Make your rational judgments based on information released by authoritative institutions such as Chinese government and World Health Organization. Strengthening self-protection while avoid panic or impatience.
申请离校离境
Application for Leaving
如果已在中国境内的同学希望离开南京或离开中国，请遵守中国政府对于疫情防控的相关要求和规定，并向海外教育学院和所在院（系）报备。因故希望长时间离校离境的同学，请联系海外教育学院和所在院（系），经批准并完成相关离校手续后方可离校。For students who are currently in China but intend to leave temporarily, please strictly abide by the nCov-infection-protection-and-control requirements issued by the Chinese governments at different levels and health authorities and take all necessary precautions and notify the Institute for International Students and your school or department faculty or staff members of your intention. If you are going to leave for a long period for certain reasons, you will be required, with permission from the University, to complete all the relevant procedures of leaving school.
时值立春，让我们在新春的勃勃生机中奋发向上，共同努力，众志成城，为早日战胜疫情贡献自己的一份力量！On this day of Lichun marking the beginning of spring in Chinese tradition, let us exert ourselfs from the vigor of the new spring, and make our joint efforts and united wills into a fortress. In overcoming the epidemic, everyone of us will play a unique role!
