On the morning of March 19, 2026, a 60-member student delegation from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation visited the John Rabe and International Safety Zone Memorial Hall at Nanjing University. Mr. Yang Shan-you and Ms. Yu Qing from the John Rabe Memorial Hall, and Ms. Hu Jie from the International Affairs Office accompanied the visit.

Under the meticulous guidance of Ms. Yu Qing, the delegation visited the Memorial Hall, acquainted themselves with the humanitarian endeavors and contributions of Mr. John Rabe in Nanjing, and comprehended the significance of commemorating history and cherishing peace. As a crucial component of the short-term exchange program, the visit to the John Rabe Memorial Hall has not only enabled German youth to acquire a more direct and profound understanding of Nanjing's history and culture but has also established a robust bridge for cultural dialogue and academic exchanges between Chinese and German youth, thereby further facilitating friendly interactions between the young people of the two countries.

The student delegation arrived in Nanjing on March 15. During their stay in Nanjing, they participated in a series of academic lectures and visits at the Xianlin and Gulou Campus of NJU. They will also participate in a two-week Chinese language program at the Institute for International Students at NJU to immerse themselves in Chinese culture and campus life.
